Wonderful Place to lovesubmitted by Steven F. - |Recommended: YesMy girlfriend and I have lived at The Shoreham for 2 years and have loved it. The front door staff are always wonderful, maintenance staff has resolved every issue in a timely manner, and the public space is very well maintained.
I'm a fan of the Shoreham submitted by Joan M. - |Recommended: YesIt is located in the heart of Chicago but with a serene and well designed park with fountains right outside. You can see the lake, Grant Park, downtown and the river. There is a dry cleaner and package area conveniently located on the ground floor. The 16th floor is awesome There's an outdoor pool with awesome views, grills and good equipment. There's free coffee and a nice study gathering area. There's 2 indoor hot tubs, a well equipped workout room with awesome views. There is a pool table, a party room and a business center. The office is also located on the 16th floor. Getting cabs is easy The staff is friendly and helpful - Fred, Jerrod and James are awesome There is a lovely cafe called The Drunken Bean which has tasty food and a casual vibe. There are food trucks and dog trucks which come on the weekends. So much to see and do in the area - there's a hair salon Gordon , nail salon Cuticle , Eggy's diner, Subway and Marianos right across the way. There's fine dining III Forks Steak house with great rooftop and interior, Mezcalina's Mexican and a Chinese sit down restaurant 1 block away. There's events in the park. It's literally steps from Grant Park, Buckingham Fountain, the Bean, the skating ribbon and tennis courts. You can walk to the lake in 3 minutes to see the boats and have a tasty meal. It's a great community I'm a fan.

Homesubmitted by Gail C. - |Recommended: YesFor many years, my husband and I would average about 1-4 years in an apartment before feeling the need to move for various reasons -- until we moved to The Shoreham. It's been more than 12 years since we moved in the building was still under construction , and from the first day we have always felt at home. We felt like pioneers when we first moved to LSE since everything was new or didn't exist yet , and have thoroughly enjoyed watching the area bloom and grow into a beautiful oasis.
response from property -Hi Gail, Thank you for your kind words. We really appreciate the feedback and hope to see you living in our community for many years to come. Best,

Amazing Location, Friendly Staff Great Communitysubmitted by Marie D. - |Recommended: YesThe Lakeshore East Community is a hidden gem on the East side of the city. It doesn't matter what's going on in Millennium Grant Park, once you walk down Field Blvd, it's super quiet, family and pet friendly and has more greenery than you'd expect living downtown. The location is convenient, with buses, a Marianos, a salon and access to the lake within a 10 minute walk. The staff of the Shoreham is super friendly. They're responsive, know most of the residents by name and are quick to solve problems and address needs. The only two issues I've encountered living in the Shoreham are that Vista Tower is now blocking my view of the river and inexperienced cab Uber Lyft drivers don't quite know how to get to The Shoreham. Apart from that, no complaints
response from property -Hi Marie, Thank you for your kind words and detailed review. We really appreciate the feedback and hope to see you living in our community for many years to come. Best,
Perfect for nowsubmitted by Kimberly J. - |Recommended: YesWith regard to the points in the ranking criteria. Parking - Availabilty, I rated 1 out of 5. There is a garage available, however in order to get a more affordable rate you need to buy packages of five passes at once for either 3, 12, or 24 hour blocks. There is little overnight street parking available nearby that beats these rates. However, when you decide to move into this area, you are obviously aware of this. It is an inconvenience when you want friends or family to visit, however. Noise- 3 out 5. I think the walls are fine, I think the source of noise is more from the larger gap underneath the doors, and vents in the bathroom. This is fine, and to be expected in shared living spaces, I would presume. I live on a pet floor so the noise is a little more noticeable, however it always does seem to stem from the hallway, not the living space next to me, which is why I attributed it to the door. Grounds - 4 out of 5. The overall appearance is simply beautiful. I absolutely love calling the park my home and backyard. The only reason I docked a star was because, as a pet owner, I would have thought during winter there would have been some areas of snow shoveled for dogs to relieve themselves once we got the giant snow falls. There are many little dogs in the community, as well as big dogs who probably would prefer not to go to the bathroom with their behind in the snow. This lead to dogs relieving themselves on the concrete sidewalks, which was is probably not desirable whether you own a pet or not, as it is not the easiest to clean up. Construction - 3 out 5. Sound and heat insulation I don't think there is anything wrong with. I absolutely love the layout and design of my apartment, it is functional and works perfect for me at this point in my life. The quality of fixtures is what brought this score to average. They are outdated and not the best quality quality. At the price point I would have expected something a little better. Maintenance and Staff are absolutely wonderful. They make my day better if I am down, and are so kind and courteous. They helped the transition of moving into city life seamless, and are some of the best parts of my day. I cannot say enough good things about the staff. So far, my maintenance requests have gotten resolved immediately, and of course worked around my availability of when I was home since I do have the dog. Overall, this community is perfect for where I am in my life. As long as my rent does not experience a significant increase, I would plan on living here for many years to come.
response from property -Hi Kimberly, Thank you for your kind words and detailed review. We really appreciate the feedback and hope to see you living in our community for many years to come. Best,

Great community conveniently located downtown.submitted by Cassandra N. - |Recommended: YesEverything is great, no complaints other than our upstairs neighbors who have yippy dogs and loud fights quite frequently. But the overall experience is great and we hope to stay here for a while.

Beautiful views, fun location, obnoxious kidssubmitted by Theodore C. - |Recommended: YesThe space is well maintained, and the staff are friendly and professional. Despite being downtown there is a lot of green space, and the feeling of living in a small community. The location is great for both work and recreation. We enjoy our views from the north-east corner of both the lake and the city. The other residents are usually polite and courteous, however water has leaked through our ceiling in the past due to negligence of the tenant above us, some neighbors let their kids run, or ride bicycles, noisily up and down the hall, and some neighbors have been leaving large trash items in the hall.
response from property -Theodore, Thank you for the kind words. We are so glad you enjoy our little metropolitan oasis as much as we do. Best,
